It’s always great to hear about our store teams getting involved in local community projects, and the latest to do this is our Lincoln decorating centre. The team in Lincoln, led by branch manager Martin Mason, recently donated paint to two local good causes.
The first is Lincoln’s Sir Robert Pattinson Academy’s new mental health centre. The Robert Pattinson Hub will provide access to counselling and other services to both the school’s students and the wider community, so it’s set to play a key role in the local area.
An unused classroom block will become the new hub, but it’s in need of refurbishment first. While funding has been granted for the project, the school wants this to go directly towards employing counsellors rather than the block’s renovation – meaning it’s reliant on donations and tradespeople volunteering their services.
Martin and the rest of the team wanted to play their part in supporting this great addition to the local community, and donated a large amount of mistint paint to the school to support the refurbishment. The donation of both interior and exterior paints was enough to cover all that was needed for the hub.
More recently, Martin and his team donated paint to the Birchwood Community Centre Library, which was recently taken over by Ignite Church. The library is a busy space in the community, and is in the process of having a community café built into its Breakthrough Centre.
Because the library is entirely run by Ignite Church and volunteers, any projects like this rely on the community’s generosity and support. As well as Martin and the team’s paint donation, one of our Lincoln branch’s account customers, Liam Glackin of GLA Interiors Ltd is providing the labour free of charge.
